embd works with or without an account. In the playground, and when you copy a share link for a small chart, your data stays in your browser and inside that link's hash — it is not sent to or stored on our servers. When you sign in and save or publish, your content is stored in our database so it can be hosted at a stable link.
Signing in is by email (a magic link or one-time code). We store your email address to identify your account and your saved content. We don't use it for marketing.
Charts, documents, and HTML pages you save are stored in our database. Published items are public to anyone with the link; drafts are visible only to you. You can export everything you've saved, or delete it, from your account page at any time. Removing your login itself is a quick email to hello@embd.sh.
Our host may keep standard security and operational logs for site requests, including IP address, user agent, requested path, and timestamps. Those logs help keep the site available and secure.
We do not use cookies, advertising pixels, or ads.
We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It is cookieless: it sets no cookie, stores nothing on your device, and does not build a profile of you or follow you across sites. It does not run inside charts embedded on other people's pages.
